100 cribs in Ireland

The organization Instrument of Peace recently became ivnvolved in an interesting cooperative effort for schools. They are caring for a web-site concerning a project about cribs.

The website www.100cribsireland.com went live at the beginning of January 2006. The project was launched by MinisterMary Hanafin, Minister for Education and Science, in the Bedford Hall of Dublin Castle, in a ceremony attended by the Ambassador of Ireland to the Holy See, His Excellency Philip McDonagh and Patrons of the project Martin Naughton, Carmel Naughton, Dr. Bulbulia, Sir George Quigley and Kate Kelly.

Many other friends and supporters of the project also celebrated the beginning of an exciting cultural project for children which it is hoped will be a positive contribution to building a Culture of Peace. This is a year-long project and it is hoped that it will be renewed each year by the organisers.

Next Christmas several Irish cribs will be displayed in Rome while the rest of the best Irish crib representations will be displayed at an Exhibition in Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park, Dublin.

Instruments of peace is a five-year old charity foundation established in Ireland as a partnershipcollaboration between an international group of lay people and the Divine Word Missionaries. Theywant to foster and promote initiatives of individuals and groups  that contribute to building a culture of peace.
