ASPAC Zonal assembly

The ASPAC (Asia & Pacific Region) zonal assembly was held in Taipei, Taiwan from September 26-30, 2005.

Provincial Superior of China, Fr. Sergio EDWARDS, did a good job of organizing the assembly. Superior General, Fr. Antonio PERNIA was also present at the assembly.

The focus of the meeting was better cooperation and coordination within the zone. The inaugural session was attended by a number of dignitaries like Cardinal Shan, Archbishop Joseph Cheng and Mons. Ambrose Madtha (Vatican Charge de Affaires) who joined the Zonal office bearers on the dais.

Prior to the inauguration of the Assembly the group visited a Buddhist monastery, a Tao temple and other places of religious and cultural importance.

Fr. Bill BURT, former provincial superior of Australia, was elected the zonal coordinator.
