75 years of Marienburg

The SVD Mission School at Marienburg celebrated the 75th year of its foundation on September 9, 2005.

Nearly 100 public personalities attended the celebrations. Bishop Ivo Fürer of St. Gallen was the main celebrant at the festive Eucharistic celebration.

Assistant Superior General, Fr. Konrad KELER and the Provincial Superior Fr. Walter STRASSMANN concelebrated. Bishop Ivo lauded the contribution of the famous school in leading many youths to priestly and religious vocation and in instilling Christian values in the minds of the young.

An open house variety programme on the next day was attended by the parents of the students and other visitors. An attractive item during the programme was the “Clown of God” presented by Fr. Ernst Heller, a former student of Marienburg and now a chaplain to Circus Troupes (itinerant people/ people on the move).
