SVD missionary honored for his work with lepers

August the 19th, 2005, was a very special day for Andy Campbell, SVD missionary in Ghana.

In a gala ceremony Andy was awarded the Foreign Personality of the Decade Award at the Millennium Excellence Awards ceremony in Accra.

Together with him the award has been given to Kofi Annan, the President of Benin and 25 other distinguished personalities.

Cardinal Peter Turkson and Archbishop Palmer-Buckle of Accra and a host of other dignitaries were present.

Andy’s award was in recognition for all he has done for the victims of leprosy in Ghana.
