Honoris causa for father Antonio Pernia

The San Carlos University, Philippines conferred a honoris causa Doctor of Pedagogy in Missiology on Fr. Antonio PERNIA, the Superior General of the SVD. The honorary degree was given on the occasion of the 70 years of the University.

In 1935, the SVDs took over what was then ‘Colegio San Carlos’. There were many activities to mark the occasion, especially highlighting the role of the SVD in the development of the University. The honorary degree on Fr. Pernia was in recognition of his personal achievements and in gratitude to the Society of the Divine Word.
